silly bishop

So i had an interview with the bishop tonight. I had no idea what it was for. The only two things i could think of were that 1. he just hadn't talked to me for a long time and wanted to see what i was up to or that 2. he wanted to give me a calling. I thought it would be pretty funny if he wanted to give me a calling since i am leaving in 3 weeks. So i went in and he just started asking me what i was doing, so i told him that i was going to Oklahoma in 3 weeks. He was like oh really? Did i know that? I told him that i have had my call for about a month and he was like wow, someone must have told me and i must have just spaced it. It was kind of funny. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to give me a calling to be on the missionary committee. It was a pretty funny meeting. After the meeting i walked out and some people from the ward were in the lobby for tuesday night missionary visits. They asked if i was joining them, so i said sure why not! My companion and i went to one house, but no one was home. We didn't have a phone number for the guy in charge, so we didn't know what else to do besides just go home. I bought a ticket from my friend to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. He rented out an entire theater at thanksgiving point. He said it cost him about $800. Yesterday our ward had a pool party. There were about a million people in the pool, so i didn't get in. It wasn't a complete waste though. One funny thing happened: our bishop came riding up on his bike, towel in hand, wearing his swimming suit and everything, and he was planning on just riding up next to the pool, but his brakes didn't work very well on the slippery edge and he ended up accidently riding his bike right into the pool. It was really funny. Especially since it was the bishop. So i guess my last post wasn't the last time before my mission, but each time i post the chances of it being the last one get better. I was cleaning out my closet today, and i found all my old journals. I started reading through them, and they are pretty funny. I used to watch this saturday morning cartoon called the weekenders, and they used to always say 'later days' at the end of each episode, so at the end of one of my entries i wrote later days! Then in the next entry i went back and explained where it came from and stuff. Then i had two journal entries in a row that started by saying, "not much happened this week, but..." Those made me laugh pretty good. I read one from EFY and i talked about a girl i liked and i thought she would just be a cow (Crush Of the Week), but i ended up liking her for longer than just one week. I'm getting pretty excited for my mission now. The thought of it keeps getting weirder and weirder though. 3 weeks from tomorrow i am gone. I feel like i use this blog as more of a public journal than a blog. Maybe that's what a blog is. I don't know. I should do better at keeping a personal journal instead of a public one haha. I will try to write again after some more exciting things happen. Bye-bye for now.

Dear Blog

Well this may very possibly be the last time i blog before i leave. Three weeks from today i will give my farewell speech. I got the topic today, so i've started thinking about that a little bit. I have always hated preparing talks. I am really bad at it. I usually don't think about it until the saturday before and then i work on it that entire day and finish it that night. I don't know why it takes me so long. Maybe, hopefully, this time will be better. I am going to try and prepare my talk earlier this time so that i can review it more. Hopefully that will help. My only sister is getting married this saturday. That will be pretty weird. So one of my 3 remaining saturdays will be dedicated to that. I realized today that one of the hardest parts of the mission will be that i don't really have a day off to look forward to. I mean there is preperation day, but that isn't really a day off at all. I am excited to go though. For a while i was getting kind of scared to go, but now i'm feeling a lot better about it. I will be quitting my job pretty soon. Probably in about 2 weeks. I have been trying to have a lot of fun with my friends and family this last little bit before i go. It is so crazy to me that i have less than a month left here. Well i probably have a lot more thoughts to share, but i have been distracted by my family so i will be done blogging for now.

Random Thoughts

Well i haven't posted anything on here for quite some time, so i decided i better write a little. Life has been fairly interesting lately. I moved home from college. That was a big change. I was used to doing whatever i wanted whenever i felt like it (within reason, and still getting all the important stuff done) and i could stay out as late as i wanted etc. But then i move home and my first saturday back i am told to be home by 11:30. My curfew was midnight my senior year. I didn't want to cause any problems, so i came back at 11:40... When i first got back i would get in a lot of little arguments with my mom. It was weird because we had always gotten along so well before. So lately i have been being really careful to be extra nice and not argue. It has been working pretty well. We haven't argued much at all lately! I have some exciting news!! I received my mission call last week. I will be serving in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Mission!! I report to the MTC on July 29! Ever since i got back from school i have been looking for a summer job, but since i am leaving so soon it has been a difficult search. I interviewed for one today, and the lady said she was probably going to hire me! That will give me like 30 hours a week and then i'm going to apply for another part time job and try to get around 10 more hours there. Hopefully all will go well with that. I have to go get a drug test later today. That should go fine since i haven't had any drugs or poppy seeds (i heard they will make you fail a drug test. I don't know that i believe it, but i'm not going to take the risk) lately... or ever for the illegal drugs. I played basketball with some people in my ward yesterday. It was pretty fun, but i got elbowed in the eye and it is swollen and red now. I think it would be funny if i got a black eye. I went through the temple on tuesday. That was definitely a neat experience. Afterwards we went out to eat at Zuppas. I think that it's more of a girl restaurant. The sandwiches were pretty small, and i got a salad with it, but the salad wasn't very good. I mean it was ok, but if i were choosing i definitely would not choose to go there. Besides all of that, i have just been keeping myself busy playing piano and guitar, diong my rubiks cube (my latest record is 2 min and 30 sec), working in the yard, taking care of mission stuff (such as the two shots i got yesterday), applying for lots of jobs, and a lot of other random things that keep coming up. Hopefully i will blog a few more times before i head out to OOOOk-lahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain....

Nasty Chicken Heart!!!

I went to Tucano's Brazilian Grill with some friends today. I should have been studying for my chemistry final but since the school year is almost over, and i probably won't see any of these people ever again, i decided i would go with them for one last lunch. None of us made reservations and we had a group of 13, so we had to wait for an hour to get in. I was a little worried because i had to be home for my final bishop interview before submitting my mission papers, but it worked out. I decided not to waste my appetite eating stuff from the salad bar, so i only gob a few pieces of lettuce at first. Everyone else got rolls and potatoes and stuff, but i just waited for the meat! Everyone except me started getting really full, so i decided i better eat some potatoes to fill me up so i could make it back for my apointment. Next time i will have to make sure i have more time so that i can only eat the meat and pineapple. Katie got her meal for free because she is on the birhtday list, and her birthday is this month. The workers played the bongo drums adn sang her happy birthday in portugese. They made her stand up on the chair and told her to dance while they sang. It was pretty funny! She was too full to eat her ice cream, so i got to eat it. MMM! Right before we we left the servers came around with chicken heart. Vanessa said i had to try it. I really didn't want to eat it, but everyone at my table was watching and said i had to, so i did. At first it wasn't too bad. It just tasted like meat, but then i think i got a blood clot or something and it was disgusting!! That nasty blood taste kept coming back. Katie took a very attractive picture of me eating it. A few minutes later i picked something out of my teeth, and i think it was the blood clot! It was so disgusting! The only positive thing is that for today i have two hearts! Anyway, I came straight home after Tucanos and made it just in time for my appointment. It went really well! When the bishop looked at my medical papers he thought my blood pressure was 170/140 which is really high and he was all worried about it and called his wife to see if she would take it again and stuff, but then he showed me and i told him that he was reading it wrong and it was only 140/70 (which is still a little high, but not bad. Mom took it today and said it is really more like 110/60). The bishop is sending my papers to the stake president this week, and i will hopefully be able to meet with him next week and get my papers submitted!! I am so excited! Well it snowed today, and i'm not very happy about it. I am going to have to do something fun tonight so that the snow doesn't make me sad. Tomorrow is going to be dedicated to studying for chemistry... hopefully... if i can concentrate.

Festival of Colors

Hurray!! I finally did something amazing enough to blog about!!! I went to the festival of colors at the Krishna temple in Spanish Fork with my good friends Katie and Vanessa! It was so much fun! The paint powder stuff was all sold out when we got there, but some nice people let us buy half of theirs. Everyone is supposed to start throwing their paint when the bonfire is lit. So when we saw the fire everyone started throwing stuff, but apparently it was accidently lit too early and the guy in charge (who had an accent like julian from Madagascar) started yelling stop stop don't throw your colors yet. So we waited for the band to set up and then had a count down and everyone threw powder everywhere! I couldn't see or breathe for a few minutes which was scary and funny and exciting. Then i got powder all over Vanessa's car on the way home. I still feel really bad for that.
Here is a picture of King Julian from Madagascar!

Holy Randomness Batman!

So i've been wanting to write for a while, but nothing interesting has been happening. Well today some stuff happened, and i guess they will have to do. It all started when i was walking out of chemistry... I was right in the middle of campus about to go into my next class when i saw two llamas on leashes. One of them was brown and was wearing a tuxedo, and the other was white and wearing a cloth over it's back and had red tassles hanging from its head. I thought it was pretty strange, so i took a picture with my phone. Then after my next class i was on my way home, but i saw some free hot dogs and of course i couldn't pass them up. Then i saw some people that had gotten free waffles for doing service. What a crazy day on campus. The free hot dog made me decided that i wanted to go to the cafeteria, so i went there with some friends. I basically ate four entire meals there, and i was so stuffed i could barely walk. So in my music class, there is this couple that always sits in front of us and at the beginning of the semester the girl would always scratch the guys back and play with his hair and stuff, but then they must have got in a fight because he would ignore her and she didn't touch him as much and stuff, but then today she started scratching his back and everything again. He might still be mad at her though because he didn't pay much attention to her. He was just playing computer games. They make me laugh a lot. In chemistry today, my teacher was talking about oxidation numbers (he's kind of a really big nerd, like he can do all these crazy calculation in his head and stuff), and he accidently said how low can they go. The whole class burst into laughter. Some kids in my ward that are also in the chemistry class have a facebook group dedicated to his quotes, and they said that i should post that one on there.
